Groundbreaking UX Insights tools
Wevo is a user experience (UX) research platform that enables leading companies to uncover reliable, statistically significant user insights about their digital experiences in a fraction of the time of typical user research tools.
Wevo’s clients commission Wevo to create, run, and review the results of UX studies. Demand could outstrip their available capacity so Wevo would need to scale up their operations, often at short notice, but time would be lost training new staff.
Aim
Onboarding documentation for new staff
Because of the nature of Wevo’s business, they needed to be able to quickly onboard new members to their teams. Good documentation was a key part of their training program, so Wevo reached out to 3di to help them document their in-house research processes to quickly train new staff and inform employees and contractors in best practices.

Challenges
Onboarding a rapidly growing team with a complex product
3di’s inhouse authoring team faced the following challenges with this project:
- Most Wevo staff had a background in research and had developed an ‘instinct’ for how to create effective study questions. They needed to provide guidance for their rapidly expanding staff who did not have this background in research.
- At all stages in the Wevo workflow, there were many tasks that needed to be completed. There weren’t any comprehensive checklists for new joiners to check their own work prior to review.
- Wevo needed to provide a consistent, quality insights service for their clients.
Solution
A comphresive, overhauled onboarding process and documentation
The 3di team:
- Worked together with subject matter experts at Wevo to document their processes.
- Created guidance for each stage of the processes which could be used as training materials for new joiners as well as a reference for current staff.
- Created checklists for each stage of the process to ensure that studies were not passed to the next stage until they were completed and verified.
- Produced an interactive, internal HTML help site for the documentation with links to relevant external documentation.
