Rachel Potts

Rachel is our Lead Consultant, advising customers on documentation strategy, and helping our growing team of technical writers to develop their skills and hone their insights. Since joining 3di in 2011, Rachel has led authoring teams, established many of 3di's working practices, and established our R&D habits. Her 3di customers include Apptio, Basware, Bridgehead, British Business Bank, Cambridge University Press, DDEX, Lightyear, Newell Brands, Origami Risk, Skype, Sperry Marine and Trading Standards Institute.

Rachel completed an MSc in Computing at the University of Essex in 2001, and spent 10 years in Cambridge software and technology companies including Autonomy Systems and Red Gate Software. There, Rachel contributed during periods of rapid growth as a technical author, team manager and change leader. Over the years she has built considerable expertise in defining technical content strategy, creating support portals, improving the findability of information, developing user-centric business processes and improving software user interfaces.

She is a Member of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators, and has led Marketing, Community and Conference strategy on behalf of the managing ISTC Council. She also contributes to the ISTC's award winning journal Communicator and is a winner of the ISTC's UK Technical Communication Awards.
